Investing-N-Kids (INK)

Background

Investing-N-Kids (or INK for short) is a cooperative program with a variety of community groups,which include Consolidated of Belleville (a group of parents, educators and community leaders in the township) and the Community Policing Unit of Belleville.

The purpose of INK is to provide fun activities for area children in a safe environment, especially children at risk.

Who Can Participate?

INK activities are open to all area children. Parents’ permission is required to participate.

Activities

• National Night Out Against Crime - several “block parties” throughout the town, in which residents are encouraged to spend an evening outdoors getting to know their neighbors, in an effort to provide mutual friendship and neighborhood security. Christ Church serves as the “Home Base” for this event.

• A Halloween Party at which the church’s auditorium is transformed into a haunted house. A gala reception is held in the church’s undercroft. Staff includes Belleville High School and Middle School students, members of Consolidated, and township police officers.

• An Interactive Workshop with Santa and his Elves at Christmastime.

• An Easter Egg Hunt on the Church’s Great Lawn.

• A Spring Dance for middle school students who participate in our programs.

Additional programs are continually being added. Suggestions are always encouraged.
